Tamil composer-actor Vijay Antony and his wife, Fatima, were struck by tragedy when their 16-year-old daughter, Meera, tragically died by suicide on the morning of September 19. Her remains were brought to their residence in Alwarpet, Chennai, for a final farewell, following a postmortem examination at a government hospital. In the wake of this devastating loss, a poignant throwback post by Fatima has resurfaced on social media.
Back in March, Fatima had shared a heartfelt post celebrating her daughter Meera's appointment as the cultural secretary at Sacred Heart School in Chennai. Her post lovingly expressed, "The Force behind my strength, the consolations to my tears, the reason for my stress (overflowing with naughtiness), my dear Meera Vijay Antony. Congrats Baby."
The news of Meera's untimely passing sent shockwaves through the Tamil film industry, prompting condolences from prominent figures such as Jayam Ravi, RJ Balaji, Sarathkumar, and numerous other stars.
Vijay Antony, known for his multifaceted career in Tamil cinema as a composer, actor, director, and producer, along with his wife Fatima, operates the Vijay Antony Film Corporation. The couple has two daughters, Meera and Lara.
Despite the immediate medical efforts made to save Meera's life, it proved futile, and she was declared deceased upon arrival at the hospital. Subsequently, a postmortem examination was carried out, and her body was returned to their Alwarpet residence. In a display of support, various celebrities visited the family to pay their respects during this difficult time, including Khushbu Sundar, Shoba Chandrasekhar (mother of Thalapathy Vijay), and Tamil Nadu minister and actor Udhayanidhi Stalin.
